High-Power Laser Matrix Modules: A China Manufacturer Guide

For engineers specifying beam lights, outdoor searchlights, and moving head lights, the core optical challenge rarely changes: how to extract extreme luminous intensity and a wide zoom range from a compact laser array. The answer sits in two components working together — a laser matrix condenser module that gathers the light, and a large-aperture collimating lens system that shapes it into a usable beam. TOPLITE, a China-based developer of matrix optical modules, has organized its product line around exactly this pairing.

What a High-Power Laser Matrix Module Actually Does

A laser matrix condenser module is an optical assembly that collects the output of multiple discrete laser chips, converges that light into a defined iris or gate, and hands it off to a downstream collimating lens, which forms the final beam. Its value is measured across several interlocking parameters: total power, luminous flux, light emission diameter, iris diameter, minimum achievable beam angle, and the zoom ratio the optical path can reach. A module that is strong in one dimension but weak in another limits the entire fixture, which is why module and collimator are typically specified as a matched pair.

The TOPLITE Laser Matrix Module Portfolio

TOPLITE addresses the beam and searchlight segment with three condenser modules that scale in chip count and output, plus two integrated laser matrix modules that package the laser source with its thermal, motor, and detection interfaces.

      MATLASER140

This module is built around a laser matrix of LaserLight SMD1000 ×7, with total power of 140 W and luminous flux up to 7,000 lm. Its light emission diameter is 48.5 mm and the iris or gate is 2.0 mm. The converging lens module measures 66 mm in length, 56 mm in diameter, and 43.3 mm in height. Dust protection is included, along with easy installation, maintenance, and upgrade. In photoelectric testing with the IMMBEAM224230 collimator and PCB SLD70701007 at a 2.0 mm iris, the minimum beam angle reached 0.45 degrees with luminous intensity up to 28,000,000 cd. In Operation A, moving lens 1 produced a beam angle range of 0.45–18 degrees, a zoom ratio of 40X; in Operation B, moving lens 1 and lens 2 extended the beam angle up to 30 degrees, a zoom ratio of 66X.

      MATLASER250

The MATLASER250 moves to a LaserLight SMD1000 ×13 matrix, delivering total power of 260 W and luminous flux up to 13,000 lm. Light emission diameter is 70 mm, with a 3.0 mm iris and a converging lens module of 80 mm length, 79.5 mm diameter, and 45.8 mm height. Tested with the IMMBEAM224230 collimator, the minimum beam angle was 0.65 degrees at luminous intensity up to 27,000,000 cd — an Operation A zoom ratio of 27X across 0.65–18 degrees, and an overall zoom range up to 46X in Operation B.

      MATLASER400

For larger beam lights, the MATLASER400 uses a LaserLight SMD1000 ×19 matrix: 380 W total power, luminous flux up to 19,000 lm, a 78 mm light emission diameter, and a 4.0 mm iris. The converging lens module measures 90 mm long, 101.2 mm in diameter, and 48.2 mm high. With the IMMBEAM224230 collimator, test results show a minimum beam angle of 0.9 degrees and luminous intensity up to 26,000,000 cd, with zoom ratios of 20X in Operation A and 33X in Operation B.

      Integrated Laser Matrix Modules

Where a system needs the laser source defined electrically and thermally as well as optically, TOPLITE offers two integrated modules. The MAT Laser-150W delivers 7,000 lm typical luminous flux; the MAT Laser-300W delivers 13,000 lm typical, using dual LD channels. Both share the same channel pin assignment structure — P1 heating at DC24V, P2 motor, P3 temperature detection with LD-NTC, RCM-NTC, and CM-NTC, and P4 laser — with the 300W version adding LD2+ and LD2−. Both specify color temperature at 25 C of 6,900 K minimum and 7,100 K maximum, with 7,000 K typical, divergence angle of 49 to 51 degrees around a 50-degree typical value, and a 2.5 mm typical focal spot. Forward voltage of the LD pin assignment is 35 V minimum, 39.4 V typical, 43.5 V maximum, with forward current of 3.0 A typical and 3.5 A maximum. Operating temperature spans −25 C to +75 C, storage spans −40 C to +85 C, and median lifetime is 12,000 hours.

Collimating Optics That Unlock Laser Performance

Two collimating systems anchor the laser test data. The IMMBEAM224230 is a 224 mm aperture lens set used across the MATBEAM, MATGOBO, and MATLASER families. The IMMBEAM180180 is a lens system applied to the same module ranges, supporting minimum beam angles from 0.55 degrees to 1.1 degrees with laser modules and wide zoom ranges. Because the two collimators yield different intensity and zoom characteristics against the same module, they give fixture designers a direct way to trade beam angle against throw intensity without changing the laser source.

Matching a Module to an Application

Selection follows from the application. Narrow long-throw beam lights benefit from the MATLASER140’s 0.45-degree minimum angle and 28,000,000 cd ceiling. Systems needing more flux at a slightly wider beam fit the MATLASER250. Large-format beam lights and searchlights call for the MATLASER400, where the 19-laser matrix and 78 mm emission diameter support higher total output. Integrated installations that require defined electrical and thermal interfaces are served by the MAT Laser-150W and MAT Laser-300W.

TOPLITE’s laser matrix line gives China-based and international fixture manufacturers a documented, test-backed path from laser chips to a finished collimated beam, with matched condenser modules and collimating optics available as a coordinated optical system.
